What is hypnotherapy?
Clinical hypnotherapy is a therapeutic tool that can help people suffering with physical- or mental health issues to heal faster and/or make changes to their behavior to facilitate improvements to their health. It can be used for things like pain management, anxiety, smoking cessation, and more.
In hypnotherapy, a therapist practitioner helps a client get into a trance-like meditation state, using verbal repetition and mental images to guide them. A person who is hypnotized is relaxed, focused, and open to suggestions (but not “out of control”). In this state, it is easier to access the areas of the mind that can assist with problem solving, internal motivation, and/or positive behavior change.
